Why choose Stevens?
• Since you may not have paid a visit to the college and checked out the Automotive

little presentation.
• After viewing the slides we hope you will consider a visit to Stevens, to find out

back yard”.

Why Choose Stevens? We can take you higher!!
• If you’re like most of our current students and graduates, you would come to
Stevens to “gain the necessary skills to get a really good job”.
• That’s what we have been doing here in the automotive program since 1948.
• Some of the following are reasons why you should consider our training program.
Why Choose Stevens? I’ve already completed an auto program!
If you are in high school and in an automotive program at the present, or you have
already completed a program, you might ask why would I want to go on to a two
year college? The answer is, that we will take you to the next level, higher than you
ever imagined! You can build on the skills you’ve already learned, and get into the
more advanced areas!
• Earn an A.A.S. degree in Automotive Technology!
• Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is accredited by the same body that
accredits Penn State, the University of Pennsylvania, and most other colleges in
the mid-Atlantic region.
• Most important of all, is the reputation that a graduate of Stevens carries for life!
• At Stevens we go deep into auto electrical and electronics, plenty of lab scope
time!
• We spend lots of time with on-board computers, and fuel & emission systems.
• You can earn your PA State inspection and PA emissions tester license during the
second year of training.
• We prepare you to take and pass the A.S.E. tests after graduation, along with
some work experience.
• You can never have too much knowledge about the automotive systems!
• If you already have the basics, you can jump into the advanced subjects much
quicker, nothing will hold you back!
• Because we are a comprehensive program, we can show you the latest cutting
edge diagnostics.
• The factory programs will only show you their testing methods, and only their
approved procedures.
Why are some of those automotive training programs so expensive, and why don’t graduates of those “high price” programs earn an A.A.S. accredited associates degree as part of their packages?
Well that just happens to be one of the few questions that we at Stevens can't help
you with on this web site. We have had those same questions posed to us many
times by parents and students during visits and tours. Maybe its's simply the reason
they are often referred to as "for profit programs"! Maybe you should compare
program offerings and costs more closely! Maybe there are some real quality
programs here in your own backyards that have been overlooked!
So what is this “amp ramping” I’ve been hearing so much about?
Were teaching the same “cutting edge diagnostic” information we learned by
attending specialty training sessions conducted by such recognized automotive
drivability wizards as Jim Linder in Indiana, and Bill Fulton in Ohio, to our students.
Don’t be surprised if some of our test procedures are so new that they haven't been
adopted by the new car dealers service departments yet! “Lab scopes”! “Current
probes”! Let your ohmmeter take a rest! Let’s measure volts and amps!
