INFORMATION FOR COMMENCEMENT 2010

Mandatory practice will be held on
May 10, 2010 and May 11, 2010
11:00a.m. in the MAC Center

Graduation Day – Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.

  • Need to assemble in Mellor Auditorium by 12:00 noon
  • Need to have 3x5 card with you at that time, with your name as you would like it to read (no nicknames), major, and if you are honors, specify which one
  • You will receive the card at Monday’s practice
  • You will receive the tassel for your mortarboard on Saturday, May 15, 2010.
  • You will need to turn in the cap and gown after Graduation by 3:30 p.m.
    in the area you picked it up.
  • You will be able to keep the tassel
  • There will be a reception in the MAC for yourself, family and friends immediately following the ceremony

Gowns and Mortar Boards
Caps and gowns will only be available until 1:30pm on Monday, May 10th and until 1:30pm on Tuesday, May 11th. You need to wait after practice to receive yours – the doors will not be open after that time.

Wearing Apparel Under Gowns
Slacks, dresses or other appropriate dress for the occasion.
PLEASE DO NOT WEAR SHORTS

Yearbooks
The yearbook will be mailed to your home.

Announcements
Announcements may be picked up in the Academic Affairs office starting Monday, April 5, 2010 up until graduation day. You will receive (10) announcements. If you do not need all of them, they can be passed on to a friend.

Respect the Ceremony and the Speakers

  • Though this is a celebration, please understand that this is also a time to give due respect to the ceremony and its speakers
  • We would ask that you refrain from tossing your cap into the air and making sounds while the ceremony is in progress.
  • By demonstrating respect, you are showing the class that you have CLASS.
