Patrice Banks’s #SheCANic movement empowers girls through
Lancaster, PA—A nationally-known female entrepreneur is coming to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology to share her story of empowerment in a traditionally male-dominated field.
Patrice Banks is a mechanic and the founder of Girls Auto Clinic in Philadelphia, which caters to women in offering automotive repair and buying resources, services
Passionate about equality and empowerment of women, business leadership, innovation, technology and STEM education, Banks promotes positive messages for female inclusion and empowerment. She uses her experience in the automotive industry to inspires individuals, groups and businesses to push boundaries, redefine success and tap into their full potential.
Recently named one ESSENCE magazine’s “50 Black Women Founders to Watch,” Banks began her career as an engineer at DuPont. She found herself putting off servicing her cars because she felt taken advantage of during appointments. So she went back to school for automotive technology at Delaware Technical Community College, and the rest is history.
