Why Consider Working at Thaddeus Stevens College?

Driven by Mission. Focused on Impact.

At Thaddeus Stevens College, we’re driven by the mission put in place by the legacy of our founder, the statesman and philanthropist Thaddeus Stevens. In his will, he outlined a vision for a school where all would be welcome regardless of background, and all would be treated equally. He particularly emphasized the value of learning a trade alongside general education, as both had the ability to change the trajectory of someone’s life.

Today we stand upon that foundation by offering only academic programs leading to high-demand careers with family-thriving wages. Our programs vary in length – as short as six weeks to receive a certificate of completion as a welder and as long as two years to complete an associate’s degree and step into a career. The College’s strength in next gen workforce development means each of our graduates has a whopping 21 job opportunities available. Most have accepted a job before they even walk across the stage at graduation.

Supporting equity in access to higher education is our mission. And we focus on the outcomes and impact of our work, connecting and engaging with students before they arrive here and long after they complete their programs. We support our students every step of the way, and are a vibrant part of our local community, region, and state economy.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Our mission embodies creating space and a pathway for those who may not have otherwise had the opportunity for higher education and a rewarding career. In light of that, our campus is known for its diversity, its commitment to equity, and its focus on inclusion. It’s a thread throughout our culture, our activities, our leadership, and our student body.
