The Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology office of Career Services hosted its annual “Career Fair” on February 14, 2019 at the Multipurpose Activity Center (MAC) on the College’s main campus in Lancaster, PA. The Fair is held each year to provide the opportunity for employers to connect with Stevens College graduating students about job opportunities in their respective fields.

Nearly 400 representatives from more than 145 companies were onsite to meet with Stevens College sophomores who plan to graduate this year and freshmen who are seeking summer internship positions. A “virtual” component of the fair expanded the number of employers participating to nearly 300.

Representatives from participating employers included more than 60 alumni who met with students to talk about career opportunities with their companies.

More than 900 Stevens College students attended the Fair, many receiving interviews on site. Last year, 98 percent of Stevens College graduates were employed upon graduation, with 93 percent obtaining employment directly in their field of study.

“The annual career fair is one way Stevens College demonstrates its commitment to our mission of providing students an education in a field that is in high demand while supporting the critical needs of manufacturing, technical and construction industry in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” said Dr. William Griscom, President of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.  “This event illustrates the high demand for our students. I would encourage students and families who are evaluating post-secondary education options to ask questions. How many students in their area of interest progress through to graduation? What is the employment rate and median salary for graduates in that major? Stevens College makes this information readily available as part of our ‘Value Proposition.’ We are proud of the relationships we have with the employers and proud of the success of our graduates,” added Dr. Griscom.
