The College is honored to accept a $73,000 gift to its foundation from Mid Atlantic Machinery and its partners. The funds will provide scholarships to students in the College’s Metals Fabrication & Welding Technology associate degree program.

Mid Atlantic Machinery is a machine tool and fabrication equipment distributor based in Lower Paxton Township, Dauphin County. The company has been a longtime partner and supporter of Thaddeus Stevens College, with those dollars going directly toward the Mid Atlantic Machinery Scholarship. The company hosts an annual golf tournament and donates the proceeds to the Thaddeus Stevens Foundation at the College to provide scholarships for students. To date, Mid Atlantic has raised more than $123,000 for this scholarship.

Graduates from Thaddeus Stevens College directly impact improving the labor shortage in metals fabrication, President of Mid Atlantic Kevin Kilgallen said. The company has hired graduates not only from the college’s Metals Fabrication & Welding Technology program but also from its Electro-Mechanical Technology track and Business Administration major. Its leadership also encourages its customers to hire graduates from Thaddeus Stevens College as well.

“This remarkable contribution will make a significant impact on the lives of our students,” said Pedro A. Rivera II, president of Thaddeus Stevens College. “It is inspiring to see how our community comes together to invest in our future workforce. We are incredibly grateful to Mid Atlantic Machinery for their unwavering support.”
