Home Construction Project Earns Top Honors at 2022 Parade of Homes Gala
For more than six decades, students have taken hands-on learning to the next level by building homes together across Lancaster as part of our home construction project.

Nearly a dozen faculty and approximately 150 students collaborate on this unique initiative each year. The college’s associate degree carpentry technology program takes the lead on the project, and second-year students and faculty from the masonry construction technology, cabinetmaking and wood technology, HVAC/R, and plumbing technology also participate. In addition, faculty and students from the College’s electrical construction and maintenance certificate program also participate.
This year, students built a duplex located on Edington Place in Lancaster (pictured above). We're proud to announce that Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology was named the recipient of the 2022 Parade of Homes Fulton Bank Award for Best Townhome/Duplex for its entry at 1906 Edington Place! This home also earned the following additional awards in the townhome division: Best of Show, Best Exterior, Best Kitchen, Best Bath, Best Interior Design in Townhome, and Best Decorated Townhome.

1906 Edington Place is a three-bedroom home feature with an open floor plan, and includes interior shiplap accent walls, a heated floor and walk-in shower in the owner’s bathroom, a stone fireplace with a reclaimed barn beam mantel, a finished basement with a custom bar, and much more.
