Robin Stauffer, Executive Director of the High Foundation, Presented With Our Distinguished Service Award

#ICYMI: we presented Robin Stauffer, Executive Director of the High Foundation, with our Distinguished Service Award at our #ClassOf2022 Commencement!

Our Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual’s outstanding achievements and significant contributions to #TSCT through creativity and dedication in serving students, advocating and leadership promoting positive change at the College, and exemplary service to the College. We seek recipients whose values are consistent with our founder, Thaddeus Stevens, who believed in the dignity, civil rights, and values of each human being – regardless of race, sex, religion, or heritage.

Robin was selected as the recipient of this award in recognition of her role in leading the High Foundation’s focus on cultural and economic vibrancy, and their deep commitment to the Lancaster community. The High Foundation’s investment in education and ongoing commitment to #TSCT has improved our facilities and benefitted our students, removing barriers to higher education for a more equitable tomorrow. Robin is a respected leader in the Lancaster community who has built, developed, and cultivated the relationship with the college, utilizing the Foundation’s resources to support and further our mission.

As Executive Director of the High Foundation, Robin works with the High Family and Board of Trustees to achieve its mission of aligning with community organizations that support constructive change within areas of identified need, and to develop its own projects that create positive impact. The Foundation’s current focuses are to eliminate poverty in Lancaster County and throughout south-central Pennsylvania by supporting efforts focused on systemic change. It also prefers to invest in projects and organizations that improve the City of Lancaster with regard to aesthetics, cultural and artistic venues, and other initiatives that lead to enhanced economic vibrancy for the entire community. The Foundation also assists High co-workers in meeting the costs of college education for their children through a competitive scholarship program.

The S. Dale High Leadership Center is the epicenter of High Family philanthropy and community outreach and a place where business and community leaders come together to inspire each other, to share ideas, and to help shape our world. It is also home to The High Family Office, where Robin serves as Manager, supporting efforts that attend to shareholder structure, succession planning, and meeting High companies’ capital requirements.

Robin is a member of the Board of the Lancaster General Health Foundation, and a past Board member of the United Way of Lancaster County, where she served on the Executive Committee and as an inaugural member of Women UNITED. She chaired the annual County-wide United Way Campaign in 2008. Robin was recognized with the Central Penn Business Journal’s Women of Influence Award for Community Achievement, and more recently was inducted into its Circle of Excellence, a new award that recognizes women at the pinnacle of their careers and/or lifetime achievement.

We’re grateful to Robin for her support, and for the impactful and important work she does on behalf of our collective community!
