Job Summary

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology has an opening for an intelligent and driven IT professional looking for a position to utilize their skills and advance their knowledge. The Cloud Administrator position assists with IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, troubleshooting, testing, resource planning, cost analysis, and implementation of cloud services in support of one or more functional areas. This position also analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies, and supports cloud hosted systems.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance:
    • Cloud solutions including Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams, Endpoint Manager
    • Cloud Applications (Learning Management System, Student Information System, Phone, Document Management)
    • Virtual Infrastructure (SQL, Azure, Azure AD)
    • Anti-virus / Malware protection
  • Project planning on larger projects and higher tier support

  • Provide high-level IT support, assistance, and troubleshooting

  • Automating, building, deploying, and releasing code from one environment to another environment

  • Cloud infrastructure automation, which may include; Microsoft Azure, Power Automate, Student Information System, Learning Management System

  • Supporting the migration to cloud infrastructure and the development of new services in the cloud using best practices

  • Use standardized approaches to deploying applications via the team's configuration management tools

  • Maintaining documentation to support operational management of applications, integrations, security, accounts, and servers

  • Be able to prioritize requests and negotiate timeframes for services to different stakeholders

  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with IT Operations and Systems Engineering

  • Proficiency and proven hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure, Azure Active Directory, Application Management & Intune

  • Microsoft 365 Experience: Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, Security, Compliance & Endpoint Manager

  • Experience migrating systems to hybrid or fully cloud-based solutions

  • Experience with web standards, such as DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, web security mechanisms, proxies, firewalls, application delivery controllers, and data sharing through API’s

  • Experience with best practices in security with account management, data governance

  • Microsoft Certifications a plus

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience with one or more of the following:
    • Microsoft Azure Management
    • Cloud backup and security solutions
    • Virtualized infrastructure, preferably VMware and Microsoft Azure
    • Experience configuring Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, VPN, ACLs, and firewalls
    • Basic programming and SQL knowledge preferred
