The annual Alumni Awards Banquet was an evening filled with recognition and celebration, along with camaraderie of all who attended to honor our exceptional alumni. The event was hosted during the College’s homecoming festivities; we love to see our alumni out and about on campus as they continue to support each other and Thaddeus Stevens College!
We were honored to award Jim Kelley one of two Alumni Service to the College Awards. A 1994 Architectural Technology graduate, he was recognized for his dedication and service to further the mission of our institution. Jim has supported the College through donations and leadership on the Architectural Occupational Advisory Committee, helping that program and its graduates to thrive.
Adam Schaeffer, a 2008 graduate of Computer & Network Systems Administration, was also honored as an Alumni Service to the College winner for his ongoing contributions, including serving as Chair of that program’s Occupational Advisory Committee and helping current students navigate industry demands.
Our alumni make such a difference in the health and legacy of our institution – its inspiring to see them continue to remain committed to our College.
Lancaster Behavioral Health was recognized as a Corporate Partner for its collaboration with the college since 2017, providing internships, tools, and other support for students.
The College inducted Leon Good as an Honorary Alumnus for his mentorship of students and active participation on various advisory committees.
We presented the Distinguished Alumni Entrepreneur Award to Melvin Winter. Melvin is a two-time Thaddeus Stevens College graduate, Marine veteran, and founder of Winter’s Heating & Air Conditioning, who provides career opportunities for veterans and disadvantaged individuals.
Kyle Amor, a 2004 graduate, received the Alumni Citizenship Award for his community service and leadership.
Vincent Edward Miles Jr., a 2016 graduate, was honored as Outstanding Young Alumni for his impressive early career in public relations and government affairs.
The Legacy of Service Award went to Phil Tuohey for his dedication to recruiting and supporting Thaddeus Stevens College students.
Nathan Mark Klepping was presented with the Spirit of Alumni Achievement Award for his success and commitment to mentoring the next generation of tradespeople.
Finally, John Yurchak Jr. received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his 35 years of service to the college and the lasting impact he has made through his professional and volunteer work.
