Mitch Kauffman, a faculty member at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, was honored on City & State Pennsylvania’s 2024 Building and Infrastructure Trailblazers list for his outstanding contributions to the state’s infrastructure sector.
Mitch was hired in 2022 to lead and launch the Civil Engineering Construction Technology program at the College, where he served as the inaugural instructor. His 25 years of experience in heavy civil construction, including his work with Rogele in Harrisburg, have positioned him as an important figure in workforce development and regional industry collaboration.
Mitch’s program, which graduated its first cohort of 17 students in 2024, focuses on preparing students for high-demand civil engineering roles. Thanks to partnerships with companies like Allan Myers, Brubacher, and Schlouch, the program boasts impressive post-graduation employment rates, proving Mitch’s commitment to bridging education and industry needs.
