Thaddeus Stevens College Announces New Drexel University Tuition Discount for Graduates

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is excited to announce an enhancement to its partnership with Drexel University that will benefit graduates pursuing further education. Graduates from our institution are eligible for the Drexel Promise, a program offering a 50 percent tuition discount for students continuing their studies at Drexel University.

This initiative builds on the College’s standing articulation agreement with Drexel, designed to provide seamless pathways for students to transition from an associate degree to a bachelor’s degree in related fields. The articulation agreement particularly serves graduates with an associate degree in Computer & Network Systems Administration or Business Administration. The Drexel Promise is a renewable scholarship that helps make higher education more accessible and affordable, reducing financial barriers for students and increasing their opportunities for long-term career success.

Dr. Pedro A. Rivera II, Ed.D., President of Thaddeus Stevens College, emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for students to further their education. “Our mission is to open doors to higher education for students who might not otherwise have that available to them. This partnership with Drexel University is a key way we fulfill that mission, ensuring that our graduates have direct access to the resources they need to succeed in high-demand fields,” Rivera said.

The Drexel Promise is part of a broader effort to support Thaddeus Stevens College graduates in their pursuit of bachelor’s degrees. With an average of 15 to 20 percent of graduates continuing their education within five years, the College offers several articulation agreements with institutions like Drexel to ensure a smooth transition. This new program is an expansion of Drexel’s commitment to reducing financial inequities and providing equitable access to higher education for community college graduates across the country.

Students eligible for the Drexel Promise can still receive additional state or federal funding assistance. To participate, graduates need only to indicate their associate degree when applying to Drexel’s full-time, on-campus programs. The program is designed to be easy to navigate with no additional forms or applications required. To maintain the scholarship, students must maintain full-time enrollment and a minimum GPA of 2.0.

Thaddeus Stevens College continues to provide its students with a comprehensive education designed to open doors to further opportunities and high-paying careers in fields with significant demand. Through partnerships like this with Drexel University, the College reaffirms its dedication to ensuring its students are well-prepared for the workforce and positioned for success.
