The Power of Community: Latest Tower Magazine Showcases Thaddeus Stevens College’s Far-Reaching Impact

The newest edition of Tower magazine illuminates how Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology transforms lives not just through technical education, but through an unwavering commitment to community. This issue weaves together stories of support, achievement, and lasting impact that extend far beyond our campus borders.

At the heart of student success are our dedicated Academic Coaches, who provide personalized support to help every student reach their full potential. Similarly, our athletic coaches build character both on and off the court, embodying our mission to develop well-rounded professionals. These mentorship stories demonstrate how our tight-knit campus community ensures no student walks their educational journey alone.

The magazine spotlights our students’ hands-on contributions to community development. Our Home Construction Projects program continues its legacy of practical education with purpose – students gain invaluable experience while building homes that will serve families for generations. Meanwhile, students from our Collision Technology and Metals Fabrication & Welding Technology programs are featured for their technical achievements and promising career trajectories, exemplifying our commitment to creating pathways to family-sustaining wages.

Our community impact extends to landmark projects shaping Lancaster’s future. The upcoming Steinman Community Learning Center will house vital community resources, including a Community Action Partnership childcare facility and STEM Career Workshop space. In a particularly meaningful connection to our namesake’s legacy, three of our students interned at the under-construction Thaddeus Stevens & Lydia Hamilton Smith Center for History and Democracy, contributing their skills while engaging with important historical narratives. The College has also provided several of Thaddeus Stevens’ personal artifacts on permanent loan to the Center, bridging past and present commitments to community progress.

Alumni and faculty profiles throughout the magazine showcase how members of our college family are advancing their fields and strengthening communities worldwide. These stories reinforce our role as an architect of opportunity – not just for individual students, but for the communities they go on to serve and lead.
