Valerie Hatfield Named to City & State PA’s Who’s Who in Government Relations 

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology’s Director of Workforce and Economic Development, Valerie Hatfield, has been recognized in City & State PA’s 2025 Who’s Who in Government Relations list, highlighting her significant contributions to workforce development and economic growth in Pennsylvania. 

The prestigious recognition showcases influential professionals whose behind-the-scenes advocacy shapes the commonwealth’s legislative and policy priorities across crucial sectors, including higher education and workforce development. 

Hatfield’s dedication to connecting Pennsylvanians with economic opportunities aligns perfectly with Thaddeus Stevens College’s mission of creating access to transformative technical education. Her leadership at the College’s Workforce and Economic Development Center has been instrumental in developing impactful training programs that bridge the gap between education and industry needs. 

“This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to creating pathways to family-sustaining careers,” said Hatfield. “Through strategic partnerships and innovative workforce solutions, we’re expanding access to technical education and meeting the evolving needs of both employers and students.” 

A two-time Workforce Development Hero as recognized by the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals, Hatfield brings extensive experience in securing resources for job preparation initiatives, having helped obtain over $8 million in grants throughout her career. Her role as a founding member of Career Ready Lancaster! and involvement with the Keystone Apprenticeship Alliance demonstrates her deep commitment to regional workforce development. 

Hatfield, a 2021 graduate of Leadership Lancaster and former PA CareerLink Site Administrator, continues to strengthen the College’s position as an architect of opportunity through strategic workforce partnerships and innovative training programs that serve both students and employers throughout the region.
