Open House FAQs

Our Fall Open House is Saturday, October 8, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. During this time, you’ll have opportunities to meet our faculty, learn about our commitment to student success, and get a feel for campus life.

To help you prepare for your visit, answers to some common questions are below.

Where should I start?

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. in our Multipurpose Activity Center (MAC). We are expecting a large crowd and suggest visitors arrive early!

The event will officially kick off at 9 a.m. with a welcome from college President Pedro Rivera. Visitors will then hear from our admissions and financial aid team about their processes.

From there, we recommend you visit the program(s) you are interested in! Within the program spaces, you’ll have opportunities to interact with faculty, current students, alumni, and industry professionals. All our locations will remain open from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

How can I find where the programs I’m interested in are located?

The College has five locations, so you should make sure you visit all the programs that interest you while you are at one location before moving on to the next location. A program will be provided with a list of every program and its corresponding location, along with a map to help you find it!

Free shuttle service will also be available during the Open House. Shuttles will depart from the Main Campus and run until 12:45 p.m.

Can I visit a program if I did not list it on my open house registration?

Yes! We encourage you to visit your top three programs, but if you see other programs that interest you, please stop in.

Our labs and shops will be open from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Faculty will be in their labs and shops during those hours and welcome your visit to share information about their program.

When I arrive at any of the college’s locations after the welcome in the MAC building, what should I do first?

Staff will be near the main entrance of each of our locations to greet you and answer any questions you may have.

Do all of the locations offer the same information?

No, they do not. Each location houses several programs.

We encourage you to spend time on our Main Campus (750 East King Street in Lancaster) for the following:

  • Student Services Showcase – LRC
  • Meet and Greets – various locations
  • Food truck court – behind Mellor Building
  • Application Café – LRC Lower Level Computer Lab
Will the College provide a shuttle service between the locations for the Open House?

Yes! The Open House shuttles will leave from the Main Campus and will be clearly marked for visitors.

Open House attendees may also drive themselves, as parking is available at each location.

Will the residence halls be open? How can I learn about campus housing and residential life?

At 9:30 a.m. any visitor considering living on campus can hear from our Director of Residence Life for an overview on what it is like to live on campus as a Thaddeus Stevens College student.

In addition, visitors can visit residence hall rooms on our Main Campus and at our Griscom Education Center.

Lastly, visitors can ask questions and meet our Residence Life team during the Residence Life Meet and Greet from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

What if I have questions while at the Open House?

Staff will be available at each location near the main entrance, ready to answer any questions you may have.

On the main campus, the admissions team will be present in front of the Mellor Building from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
