Intern Position
The office of Planning, Assessment & Accountability, and Institutional Research (PAAIR) at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is seeking an intern for the 2022 calendar year to assist with projects pertaining to our continuous improvement initiatives. Under the guidance of the PAAIR director, the intern will lead the coordination of 2-3 small evaluation projects across campus focused on measuring the impact of strategies implemented to support student success. The position requires a 15-20 hour/week commitment, and would require physical presence on campus at least 2 days per week.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, who is able to work independently as well as part of a team. They will be familiar with current postsecondary education topics and have basic knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies. Excellent communication skills (verbal/listening) are essential. Good writing ability is also a plus! Candidates must have strong analytical skills and be able and interested in learning to use data analysis software (e.g., Excel, Dedoose, Tableau). Familiarity with survey design is also highly desirable. Students must have access to an academic library in order to assist with conducting literature reviews. This position is ideal for master’s or doctoral-level candidates interested in building their research skills.
