Kylynn Frankford, a second-year student at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, was named Women’s Athlete of the Year by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III.

A graphic communications and printing technology major, Frankford attended the NJCAA Division III National Championships at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala. She ran a 5K in 21:04:20 to come in 15th place overall during the championship race.

Frankford was also named All-American for her efforts throughout this Cross Country season. She was also named honorable mention, All American during last year’s season. Frankford also won the Cross Country regional meet in the area the past two years as well as placed first at the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Championships.

“Coaching students to watch them improve and invest in themselves is work that matters,” said her coach Matthew Robinson. “It was a privilege to see Kylynn shine this season, and she is totally deserving of these awards.”

Frankford has run Cross Country during both of her years at Thaddeus Stevens College and has enjoyed that part of her college experience.

“I have pushed myself and seen great results,” she said. “It’s something we talk about a lot on campus – how you can put in the time and energy and you will reap the rewards.”

    Frankford will graduate in May.
