“Every man, no matter what his race or color; every earthly being who has an immortal soul, has an equal right  to justice, honesty, and fair play with every other man”— Representative Thaddeus Stevens of Pennsylvania,  1867.

I chose to attend at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology after learning about the diversity and mission  from a past alumnus of the college. Although, as a young mother, it was difficult for me at the time to return to  school, Stevens has provided me with the experience and opportunity to overcome all of my challenges.    Without the leadership of the college’s administration, staff, and faculty I wouldn’t be able to reach my goal of  receiving a valuable education. The college has given me the support to become a leader through being a  student, tutor, intern, president of the Student Government Association, and more importantly a woman on  campus

The mixture of the diversity and leadership made it easier for me to work towards achieving my goal of  graduating from Stevens in May 2017. Being a mother has given me the determination and aspiration to  embrace the mission of our college everyday as I work with others from every aspect of life.  Attending Thaddeus Stevens College has provided me with the opportunity to excel and become the person I am today.

I encourage women of all ages to explore in taking one of the 22 exciting career majors offered at Thaddeus Stevens. A commitment made now could prepare you for employment opportunities upon graduation. Don't hesitate to take the next step, it's worth it!
