Pam Smith, VP of Advancement, Named Above and Beyond Winner
Pam Smith, Vice President of College Advancement at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, recently received a prestigious recognition: City and State’s 2024 Above and Beyond Award. It is a testament to her contributions and tireless efforts in educational advancement. Recognized for her dedication to increasing funding for students in need, Pam has enhanced the financial support at the college, notably through attention and increasing outside funding for the Stevens Grant. This grant has been instrumental in creating educational access for many students who otherwise might not have been able to pursue higher education.
Beyond her work in student financial assistance, Pam has played an important role in the College’s annual housing project, currently leading the development of affordable housing units, and both current and future home build sites. She also helps maintain the College’s relationships with state and community leaders.
Her leadership extends beyond the campus, too. She co-chaired the education action team of the Coalition to Combat Poverty in Lancaster City, spearheading initiatives to improve early education and childcare and connecting K-12 education with workforce demands.
Pam's influence also reaches into community involvement, serving as a board member and currently the Board Chair of Girls on the Run in Lancaster. Her past role as Executive Deputy Secretary in the Pennsylvania Department of Education saw her driving significant educational initiatives across the state, including establishing a state-recognized certification for school social workers.
With a career dedicated to fostering advancement, strategic engagement, and innovative partnerships, Pam Smith's achievements reflect her unwavering commitment to education and community service.
