Skill Up Fast - Production Welding Graduation July 2017

    Lancaster, PA - On Friday, July 28, 2017, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology graduated the latest students from the Skill Up Fast Program in Production Welding. 

    The graduates included recent high school grads, adult learners, clients from IU13 and PA CareerLink - an organization that provides supports and connecting links between job seekers  Lancaster County businesses that want to hire them. Each individual is now qualified to do entry level welding. They are able to understand the importance of welding in the modern manufacturing industry, properties of metals, gas, metal arc (GMAW) and Flux core arc welding (FCAW) techniques and Safety and fabrication blueprint reading.

    “There is a huge need for welders on all levels, and the 100-hour Production Welding class is a great way to get an introduction to the field and start your new career”, says Dr. Zoann Parker, Vice President for Academic Affairs. 

    The students will get a taste of the different processes but learning and qualify in one to prepare for a career in welding.
