The Lancaster Chamber of Commerce awarded Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology its Thomas T. Baldrige Catalyst Award in 2023.

The award, one of four given out annually by the Chamber as part of its Annual Dinner celebration, recognizes a business, organization, or individual community member that actively contributes to the quality of the business landscape, place, and community.

The Chamber recognized Thaddeus Stevens College for creating catalytic change that fosters growth and innovation throughout the county – and beyond. Whether in responding to a crisis, advancing Lancaster’s prosperity, representing the community in a positive way, or an ongoing commitment to steady, meaningful impact, the award is designed to celebrate the good that occurs in Lancaster County annually.

“Thaddeus Stevens College is an asset to our community, creating positive change through shifting the course of our workforce by investing in student success and meeting and anticipating business needs,” said Donna Kreiser.

Nominations are made by community members and those in consideration are reviewed by the Executive Committee of the Lancaster Chamber’s Board of Trustees to select a winner.

This award highlights how Thaddeus Stevens College is aligning with our mission to provide equitable access to education to those who may not have the opportunity otherwise. Some of the ways we stand by that commitment are in the low cost of obtaining a degree here, the direct connections and job placement rate with industry partners, and the immense support our faculty and staff pour into our students. The College is dedicated to providing a robust education in high-demand skills for jobs with family-sustaining wages – inspired by the legacy of our namesake, Thaddeus Stevens, who devoted his life to fighting for equity and accessible education for Americans.

“We believe in equity; we believe in opportunity; and we believe in the next generation,” said Pedro Rivera, President of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.

Many thanks to the community for its ongoing engagement, support, and affirmation of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology’s commitment to our students, our region, and our state’s workforce.
