Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology has been changing the lives of students for over 100 years. Stevens provides a well-rounded, two-year education that virtually guarantees a good job and the opportunity for a better life. While most students select one of several job offers upon graduation, some choose to further their education. For the past 20 years, under Dr. William Griscom’s leadership as president of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, the community has seen positive changes.

With Dr. Griscom’s guidance, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology was awarded Collegiate Certification by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and obtained a ten-year reaccreditation from the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of College and schools, as a two year technical college.

He acquired $8 million in State funding to build a new Multipurpose Activity Center. Thaddeus Stevens College of Tecehnology also received an appropriation from the Capital Budget of $16 million to acquire and renovate the Community Hospital facility in Lancaster for the purpose of expanding program and dorms as well as, the creating of a Work Force Training Center.

The College has seen an increased enrollment to 576 students in the fall of 2000 – the largest fall enrollment since 1991, expanding minority enrollment across categories. With much diversity and the development of the Women’s Center & Multicultural Center - students, faculty and staff are able to seek an educational safe space. Dr. Griscom took the initiative and created the ‘Stevens Experience’ a one week residential program for middle school minority students so they’re able to experience what Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology has to offer.

Dr. Griscom has done a lot for Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and with his leadership, the college and all its inhabitants continue to grow and strive for the best – for instance, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology was named among one of the top two-year colleges in the nation by the Aspen Institute. The future is bright not only for the many who have taken the first step on campus but the direction of many up and coming projects and plans like the Greiner Campus launching in the highly anticipated Fall of 2018. Thank you for all that you do Dr. Griscom and here is to many more! Happy Anniversary!
