    MyFutureCareer.us is a free, interactive website for middle school and high school students.  Accessible on computers and smartphones, the website introduces students to careers in advanced manufacturing, technology, and construction trades.

    MyFutureCareer.us is a vital tool that helps schools fulfill their career awareness requirements. Parents, guidance counselors, and college recruiters use it too. Take an interest assessment and receive suggestions of high-demand careers. Watch short videos featuring workers on the job. Learn about a company, a typical work day, and the lifestyle that occupation affords. Click resource tabs to learn more about aptitudes, skills, and postsecondary education needed for entry into each career.

    Employers have a unique opportunity now to excite and engage their future workforce, encouraging students to pursue a potential career. Sponsors are needed to showcase more occupations and industries by sponsoring a video or the website. Put your company’s name in front of hundreds of students and adults.

    Fun Facts 

    1. In 1950, 20% of jobs required skilled technical workers. Today, that number has climbed to 80% and continues to grow.
    Only 20% of today’s jobs are professional or managerial and require a four-year degree.

    2. The average student loan debt for a PA college graduate is $32,528. The average student loan debt for a Stevens College graduate is $7,104.

    3. At the 2017 Thaddeus Stevens career fair, more than 350 companies participated to recruit for 900 job openings.

    4. The Pennsylvania CareerLink’s analysis says that many well-paying “middle-skill” jobs provide rewarding careers and require only a two-year technical college degree. Many of these jobs are in manufacturing and construction where retirements of baby boomers are creating a workforce crisis.

    5. The Institute for Women’s Policy Research calls for more awareness and educational counseling to ensure that women are as likely as men to enter training for STEM occupations. MyFutureCareer.us provides such awareness.
