Stevens College Holds 108th Commencement

    Former Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology student and nationally renowned motivational speaker Eric Michael Frazier delivered the Commencement Address as Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology conferred degrees on 419 graduates in its Class of 2019. The ceremony took place Saturday, May 11 at 1 p.m. in the Multipurpose Activity Center on the main campus.
     
    Frazier, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, and Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, is passionate about bringing healing to people that have been through traumatic/stressful experiences. He is a certified peer mentor, an activist for veterans, an active volunteer in veteran and youth organizations, and a motivational speaker, sharing his life experience as a living survivor of domestic violence that left him wheelchair-bound at the age of 21.
     
    Frazier attended Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology prior to enlisting in the United States Marine Corps.
     
    The College also conferred honorary doctoral degrees on Curtis Topper, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of General Services, for the critical role he played in the construction of the College’s new Advanced Manufacturing Center and for serving as one of the College’s strongest and most ardent supporters; Ronald E. Ford, for his work as member and leader on the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology’s Board of Trustees and his continued support of the College; and Eric Michael Frazier, Commencement speaker for the 2019 ceremony. The Distinguished Service Award was presented to John Wertz for his support of technical college among high school students, including his advocacy for pursuing an education at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.
