Lancaster, PA – By day, he works full time for H.B. McClure based in Harrisburg, PA. By night, he is a Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration student at Thaddeus Stevens College. Meet Austin Brunswick.

Austin came to Thaddeus Stevens College from Philadelphia. After hearing from his first Amateur Athletic Union Coach, who was a successful Commercial Tech Worker providing for his family, Austin took the first step to heat up his career goals and come to Stevens as an HVAC-R Major.

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology is all about helping the students find a successful career. When Edward West, Plant Utility Operator, took him in as an intern, Austin received hands on experience and real life application. They have worked on 400HP High Pressure Boilers located at the main campus and the 250HP High pressure boilers located at the Branch campus.

As Austin continued to grow through his College career, “H.B. McClure came to my evening class and I told them about my 2 year internship operating boilers so long story short Mr. Ed West, my supervisor, brought them in for a face to face interview at school,” says Austin. Austin will be graduating from Thaddeus Stevens College in May 2017 from our very own HVAC Evening class. After graduation, Austin will have a full time position at H.B. McClure.

From time to time, Austin can be seen back at the Maintenance Shop on Campus helping Edward West working on the same boilers they were working on since his internship. “I love the help and motivation from the staff to help you move on with life. My advice for students would be to use all resources, give respect, and be humble and everything will be clear and forward.”
