Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology has entered into a lease agreement, effective January 13, 2020, with High Real Estate Group to expand its presence at Greenfield. The College plans to lease an 85,894 square foot building that will be built on the newly constructed Ben Franklin Boulevard, off Greenfield Road. The target date for completion of the new building is June 1, 2021.

“Thaddeus Stevens College is facing a tremendous increase in demand for graduates in transportation-related majors, including Automotive Technology, Collision Repair Technology, and a new program that will launch Fall 2021, Diesel Technology,” said Dr. William Griscom, former College President who worked with High on the lease prior to his retirement effective January 31, 2020. “Most graduates from these programs receive multiple offers for livable wage jobs.  This new building with state of the art equipment and classrooms will enable the College to quadruple the number of students it can educate in these majors.”

Currently these courses are taught on the College’s main campus at 750 East King Street, in Lancaster, PA. The space that will be vacated by relocating Automotive Technology and Collision Repair Technology from the main campus will be used to expand the class size for Cabinetmaking and Wood Technology, another major in great demand.

Thaddeus Stevens College currently leases space at Greenfield at 1812 Colonial Village Lane for its Welding Technology, Masonry Construction Technology and Computer Software Engineering Technology programs.

“High Real Estate Group is proud to partner with Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology as they expand their programs to prepare students for careers in fields that pay livable wages, and help local businesses that are experiencing a shortage of workers” said Mark Fitzgerald, President and COO of High Real Estate Group. “This is a good example of using the diverse capabilities of High, including High Real Estate Group, Greenfield Architects, and High Construction to offer affordable lease space that meets the needs of Thaddeus Stevens' rapidly growing demand for educating future transportation-related technicians.”
